“Reading” update: my favorite so far! He argues for:
1) Spending more time truly educating ourselves instead of simply seeking entertainment.
2) Universal education
3) The unique ability of literature to put to words previously inexpressible experiences
4) Refusing to set aside quality literature, art, philosophy, etc. for only certain “elite” people or places.

“Where I Lived” update. If I were to summarize his points about living simply and slowly, we would say he was shockingly relevant. And he is. But the actual arguments are so full of hubris it’s hilarious.

Finished “Ecpnomy” and ohhhhhhh boy. Making me consider whether the ends justify the means. This fellow IS making some lovely, timely points about consumerism. But the ways he gets there are…wild.
