I started with the audiobook, but I kept getting lost in Elio’s thoughts and had trouble following the story. Switching to the Kindle edition made a huge difference
I could slow down, reread passages, and finally understand where the narrative was going. This is definitely one of those books that, for me, works much better on the page than in audio.

Aciman writing is undeniably beautiful. But Elio’s stream of consciousness can be exhausting at times, constantly shifting between the present, memories, imagined conversations, and self-contradictions.
