These last two chapters on internationalism and britain in europe, were quite cringeworthy reading for me, given it is all the tactics used by remainers to scare people into staying in the EU. I didn't buy it then, and I am not buying it anymore now. I am just glad this whole delusional left narrative is in the past. As they continually misunderstand the dynamics of a real society, as opposed to an ideologically driven, utopian one.

He says, for socialists, the core responsibility of the government is to maintain cohesion of society and avert social breakdown, but I don't think this is accurate at all. Their core aim is to keep making things "more" equal, as this is the only way they can carry on "progressing", and they always take it too far till social cohesion is in fact undermined and society starts to breakdown

Not seen anything yet to alter my judgment of the current left in UK politics as simply untrustworthy, and narrowly committed to outdated ideologies that do not reflect the current reality we need to deal with.
