I've now officially surpassed the point I left off the first time I tried to read this. I'm actually enjoying Max's story more than I expected (or remembered), and I think I've gotten used to the meandering sentence and paragraph structures. I'm not used to all the confusing name-dropping (of mostly fictional people who aren't actually characters).
