I've acclimated myself to the Victorian English at about a third of the book, and now the reading is moving along more smoothly.
I am gripped by the narrative now!

The obscure Victorian English makes it a trudge to read but the gem underneath is obvious.

Interesting character development but SO slow to read due to the Victoria writing style.
