This is a good little sassy book when he let the story just flow. The self inserts be cooking me.

See. This is much better when the writer is just telling the damn story rather than trying to be slick and purposefully funny. Why was that so hard? Or is part of the charm the unreliable narrator?

This next “chapter” says it’s an hour and 45 mins long to read and is over 100 pages. Sigh. The formatting is cooking me.

Okay I get why with the narration and the pacing and the insanity of arriving to the actual meat and potatoes of the book. Self-depreciating biographic humor was a huge thing for these authors in the 70s. Sheesh.
