The girls are stronger than me because I genuinely would have killed myself to make my parents the king & queen feel bad for subjecting me to suxh a bleak existence with no apparent way out. like if i were 38 begging for marriage and found out there have been many offers made and declined over the past few years without my say in it it wouldve been the last straw

I’m beginning to see this book as less of a well-researched biography (which it still very much is) but also a psychological study on parenting especially in the context of G3. It’s so interesting and is helping me understand to a greater extent why their great experiment failed so disastrously. They have the very best of intentions for their children but their fear of the wiles of society ultimately fails them

The cycle of generational trauma is a hard one to break. Also, Charlotte and George’s relationship might make you go Aww because they’re one of the only truly faithful marriages in British royal history, but it is lowkey so miserable, especially for Charlotte. I just feel bad for her. For all the efforts to create a valuable, equal partnership, it seems that most of the costs were hers to pay

I know I’m supposed to be reading Maurice but I can’t resist this book. Hadlow writes in a way that is both academic, informative, and entertaining.
Caroline of Brandenburg & G2’s relationship is a train wreck. They’re so nuanced and complicated. Also the literal innate hatred towards each other in that family is crazy. Family therapist coupon awardees
