Never read a JM book before, but I never would’ve thought his exegesis of the Scriptures in a book would be so sloppy.

Let this be clear: you can’t do enough to be saved and avoid hellfire. Instead, Christ did all of it for you, and letting Him save you is all you have the ability to do. Everything from the Pharisee and Sinner story to Peter almost drowning explain this clearly.
