Lou lay on her back with one braceleted arm outside the covers, her upturned toes, her breast, lifted the bedclothes to make a shallow trough between. She looked as touching as Juliet on her tomb. The moonlit drapery was like a drawning by Blake. 'There should be angels', thought Kate.

Whereas I think caring for and respecting our elders is what we owe them, I think it is a good thing that parents aren't put on a pedestal anymore - what do you think? My parents often brought up in conversations how children can step on your heart - and experiencing now how they can do so, often unintentionally, I can only admit they were right 😃.
I agree that stepping down from the pedestal is a good thing but I wish the lessons in humility did not come so often 🤣🤣
