The political angles in this one are fun, but halfway through, I think more editing was needed.
Too many pages of Solêne doing fruitless research and pointless speculation. Amaury’s POV is way too frequent — I’d argue that he’s completely unnecessary as a POV character. But the dragon’s POV is fun.
Every chapter in a book should offer something new to drive the plot. There are several here that don’t.
