Is anyone else having a lot of “random” likes from people that are not even reading books.
Nearly always they have no “currently reading” and have a series of random likes all the same date in their profile, and sometimes a series of random ”want to reads” all the same date.
Half the notifications I had over the past 48 hours have been from these random people (at least a dozen).

I haven’t seen any like that yet. Sounds like fake accounts, but I’m not sure why anyone would do that!

Lol, I'm not sure if this is the kind of account you're talking about, but I've definitely been on a spree of liking reviews and adding books to my "Want to Read" shelf lately.I mainly keep up with my "Want to Read" section rather than my "Currently Reading" section, though I do have some older books there I need to update, lol. I'll usually like multiple reviews of books I'm interested in and add them so I can come back to them when I end up at my local bookstore.
Also, my reading tends to lean toward certain genres (classics, for example), so I naturally see the same reviewers. It all kind of connects, and I end up following them since I discover recommendations I wouldn't have found otherwise, lol.

Oh well, they are not trying to connect so I likewise do not see what they are trying to do.
If I look to see who has liked my review or update and it is one of these , I just ignore these days.

Not a problem Marv, I realised your were real quite quickly. You have too many currently reading, none of these random accounts have any !
It seems to come in waves. I've had those in the past (but not anything recently, though I haven't been active on GR much, so maybe I wasn't an attractive target). Back then, they were usually from accounts that were idle for years and suddenly became active again, so I guess they hijacked inactive accounts.

Idle for a while (maybe even a few years) and then a bunch of completely random books all added on the same day, sometimes these people have the same or similar random books. I just don't get it
