As much as I loved Lonesome Dove I was hesitant to read this because I thought the absense of Gus would be too great. And even though I liked the character Gus a great deal, I was able to move past it as I found myself immersed in the story. This was another great adventure on the frontier- at times exciting, funny, and many times horrifying. This was a great sequel!
