Anastasia Steel: After so many scenes of Christian Grey being a brilliant character and lover; She is still remains stubborn, flippant, short, challenging, entitled, petty. It’s actually sad.

“You can walk away any time, Anastasia. I won’t stop you. If you go, however – that’s it. Just so you know.”
Anna does not answer on the night. She teases him and then exits prematurely whilst seriously considering ending it. This is “agonising” to her and she cries on the way home

Ana is “petulant”. (As described by the author twice in this Chapter) And the device that brings the two of them together at the beginning of the Chapter is a stupid joke made by Anna: Discarding him bluntly and moodily.
Christian meets the challenge, latching onto part of her message “nice knowing you” and using jealousy and “sex as a weapon” to reinvest her

The character of José.. He is a proven vulture, an opportunistic creep. He is desperate and entitled. Yet is eagerly tolerated and encouraged by Ana and Kate who are both dating men they are besotted with. “José you know I can never stay mad at you for long.” Why is he kept around? It is not his qualities. So what does he offer? The answer is obvious attention. Further and even more dismal he is a backup option
