Grace being 3 years younger than Gran makes the timeline even weirder. Either Gran was already pregnant when she left home or the mom started having babies at 15 years old.

So I was feeling like the ages didn't make sense, just saw Grandma's age at death, 84. If MC is 45 and grandma is 84 that means both grandma and mom were likely teen moms which doesn't fit Grandma's 1950s storyline very well.
