not lost on me that gold ends her exploration of how capitalism circumscribes our imaginations so that literary fiction can't envision actually destroying or getting outside capitalism by saying that even if it could, that fiction would just be coopted by capitalism. which certainly illustrates the point. possibly not in the way she intended.

unless the author also wants to include pop culture reviews in this book, which is clearly not the point of it, i'm not sure why i need to hear her opinions about the witcher games she hasn't played or whatever. like is it relevant, even if it's a briefly funny aside?
