Pacing a little weird, but it's okay so far.

I’m enjoying this book, especially the writing style. But I must say that there appears to be a considerable chunk of story that was removed between pages 22 and 24, from which I feel that the story would have greatly benefited, but which the author was likely told to remove in order to economize words and meet a certain word count.
