“Speaking of werewolves—do you know why our ancestors were once so frightened of them?”
“No.”
“My grandfather told me the secret. It is not because they are men who turn into wolves. It is because they are wolves who turn into men.”

I really like the chronological back and forth Ray Nayler does; I know where the characters are now, but it helps me better understand who they are and how they got there.
