HOW IS THIS SO GOOD?! Just got to an incredible action/fight scene btwn a vampire and an elf and my heart is beating so fast - I needed a moment to process everything that just happened.
WOW to all the layers + pieces of the puzzle fitting together here at the end. I’m in love with this story and all the heist twists and turns. Such lovable characters as well. I’m anxious to finish 🥹

First, I need to praise the absolutely incredible world-building and...biology? of the merfolk. The need for salt, the shifting, the politics of colors (that's hinted at) and the powers Tetra possesses make merfolk sound incredible!
Tetra is so sweet, honest, and good-hearted - that combined with her amazing powers makes her such a badass FMC! I am rooting for her and her mission.

Jayvin, Jayvin, Jayvin 🥰 I adore the mess that he is and the chaotic whimsy he brings. I imagine much of it is due to his sad circumstances so it's a bit bittersweet but he's so much fun anytime he's in a scene. And almost every interaction with Tetra has undertones of awe, devotion, and an intensity that feels oddly intimate. It's actually quite romantic despite everything.
