Hmm…her replacing Athena’s realistic portrayal of Annie for a “tender and touching” one was the wrong move. Cause genuinely why would the laborers be attracted to a women who resembles the people that are racist to them..?And the moment isn’t even touching..it’s sad for the laborers. Honestly poor Emmy. I don’t like June honestly. She is racist, but she also does give back to the community she is leeching off of which is good, in a way?? Idk. At the beginning of the book one of her bullet points for Athena success being that she is a person of color truly showed her true feelings towards people of color. June thinks writers who aren’t white have a advantage

Omg up until this page Athena could do no wrong in my eyes…but trashing on aspiring authors is ehhh to me. I mean I get that she is tired of people thinking they are like her because they share a few characteristics but she doesn’t have to be rude…and she could help them. Reading about the changes that June and her editor made to the books breaks my heart. They made a masterpiece telling the authentic truth of Chinese laborers treatment and contributions during World War I into a simplified story, THAT DOESNT EVEN SHOW HOW CHINESE LABORERS WERE FORGOTTEN AFTER…Athena was right, if a reader is confused about the contents of a book—literally just google it!!! It’s not that hard.

I feel like now that “her” book is about to published, she is forgetting that the book is not even hers to begin with
