The audiobook is SO well done (thank u Isla for the rec) and I'm enamoured with this story that is both hopeful and such a tragedy and so out of line with what I know of GRRM. Maybe I have been unfairly harsh because the GOT show was Like That or maybe Dunk and Egg has a genuinely chivalric charm all the more tragic for what comes after in Westeros.

fwiw while i wouldn't call the main series hopeful i do not think the show ever understood what it was about
