Humayun, brother was a lazy, scared man. All he did was get with a 14 year old at 33 😬 and lose major territories like Gujurat to the Afghans. Lowkey I feel bad for Sher Khan. India or Hindustan has never really been India for a while like even modern day Indians except for maybe the South have a lot of Mughal, Afghan lineage.

Sher Shah was acc epic and his ruling, although probably described as an ego stroke, was so balanced. But I am yet to make my mind up about whether religion and law can go hand in hand. Do they work to each others favour? And is this only when there is unity in religion, such as the Roman or Grecian religions. As the author mentions the Shah not really having a problem with Hindus living under his rule.

Babur acc seemed like a great king, although he wasn’t organised in his jurisdiction and authority. He knew how to expand and rally his troops, unlike Augustus and other leaders he told the truth in his memoirs (eloquently as his passions were in the arts) - he used to partake in drug taking and alcohol abuse. Even despite taking oaths not to before battle. Finding out he was a little fruity was interesting too.
