Currently, I am at the point in the book where Tris and Tobias are talking to Jeanine during the war. One thing that the author does to enhance the story is use comparisons. One example is on page 574 when she says," the pain has been so constant for the past few minutes that I have gotten used to it, like a person gets used to a sirens wail if it is constant". ( the pages are different on my I pad)
