Another boring sex scene that i hated. And yes, they came at the same time during intercourse because we cant dare to do anything different. Dont pmo. Ur telling me that this fantasy world has different religion and politics etc, but their sexual practices happen to be exactly the same as ours. and also the way that these virgins have sex happens to line up exactly with the ideal accordign to the publishing industry

Wait here’s an example:“She acted because her wanting for the impossible was more potent than any sense of justice or reason”One paragraph later…“They could not stand among these flames without being consumed”

But of course the context of an old legend does not really work for this story because the perspectives are too close. Or maybe im being too close-minded thinking that legends cant be told from a subjective pov🤷♀️but im not sure
that’s what the author was going for anyways

Maybe i just have something against 3rd person subjective perspective. But i feel like it doesnt bother me so much in other books.. so i dont know how to express what this one is doing so differently. Maybe its that the characters that the perspectives are written from dont have distinct voices, and therefore it feels like the entire book is written by one narrator as if it is an old legend or something

Im trying to figure out how to express what i dont like about the book. The thing is I feel like it is written in a strange perspective where sometimes it is very close/subjective 3rd person and sometimes it feels a lot more distant. I just cant find any good examples from the text to support my theory so i feel like im wrong and also crazy and imagining things. But i just have this feeling..

And btw, what is it with these awful sex scenes that seem to be in every romance novel from the past 5 years? They are so boring and cookie-cutter, the characters lose all personality, and they don’t advance the story except to check off a box that yes this is an adult romance novel and yes the characters do have sex just like in real life adult romances. I am so fr im at my wits end
