Ok, this book is really something. I read it about 35 years ago, and I wanted to come back to it. Ellul makes the case that the Bible as a whole is fundamentally anarchist, and that we as Christians should be as well. It’s not the kind of argument one comes across very often, particularly not in a country where the prevailing attitude seems to be that God is fully in favor of our country and our government.
