So turns out I knew almost nothing about the Lewis and Clark expedition (for starters, it wasn’t just Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea?!???), which is too bad because the real story is 100000x cooler than the version they teach in school

It’s a crime that there has never been a movie made of the Lewis and Clark expedition. A bunch of guys set off to explore never-seen-before territory, have no idea where they’re going, encounter various Indian tribes, have to cross the Rockies in the snow (and eat their horses to survive), have zero contact with civilization for over 2 years, and on and on. One the most remarkable feats of American grit.
