I highly recommend the Johnstones (uncle/nephew) for series like 'Preacher' and 'Smoke Jensen' and Kent Conwell for lighter, more humorous standalones. I've not read anything by them that I haven't loved.

Thanks, Daniel. I had high hopes for this book. Though the storyline is good, the author has told me zero about the characters. Literally people show up in the story and nothing is told on how they know or don’t know each other. Or why woman are getting enslaved in the book. There are too many holes to where I guess the reader should “assume” the background info.

It's so great when you discover authors that you know are gonna be a home run every single time. Ron Schwab ('Dismal Trail'/Sandhills Justice series) is another example for me. I will always have 5-star westerns to read with those authors.

I will definitely check some of them authors out since you have me on this Western bandwagon now 🫶
