I love L'Engles better known children's books and have read many of them multiple times, but these Crosswicks Journals are a treasure. I remember them 20+ years after the first read. Highly recommended, especially for mothers with children at home and writers or artists.

I borrowed Circle of Quiet (and subsequently, all of the Crosswicks Journals) from the library many years ago. Now re-reading, having purchased for myself, because I know I will be highlighting and underlining and making notes. I'm only on page 5, and already falling into the lovely rhythm and music of this gorgeous book. Drawing hearts next to sentences.
