I keep wondering if the author will blame lead poisoning for their scattered narrative, too 😶

The story of how smelting plants destroyed the environments and communities around them is an interesting one, but could be better told by centering that as the thesis and not trying so hard to focus on a handful of serial killers, for whom lead exposure was just one contributing factor to their homicidal psyche.
