This is starting to lose me. I like spinter!Mae's experiences with the scavengers, but real!Mae and the rest of the Jackals on the WY station feels rote. Also, they're still drawing out the Accelerant plotline, to the point it's been subsumed by WY stuff.

This is picking up, good use of squad tactics, and it FINALLY explains why WY insists on human hosts for its xenomorph experiments. Well done, that only took you four decades. :P

This is definitely a step up from other Alien books, in that (among other things) it feels willing to more do its own thing. For instance, the Juggernaut being pursued, space combat, the effects of heavy gs (you can tell the author has either read The Expanse or is familar enough with physics to convey similar ideas), the idea of synthetic culture, etc. While the xenos are used sparingly, they leave impact.
