Enjoyable read so far. I quite like the time spent building up the monk backstory, the MMC is pretty relatable. I like seeing the world through his naivety. The FMC is less a strong and developed character. She isn’t that complex or compelling beyond tough cookie on the outside but softie on the inside. I hope she becomes more interesting as the book progresses.
