it's always so funny to me when the main character realizes everything about the war/the religion/the world was built on a lie and a myth and like lowkey spirals. Helena has been living horribly for years and this is what breaks her??? She's not even allowed to hang out with the person she's doing all this shit for. I'd tell him and burn it all to the ground with him

This being the only thing I could fathom after reading all of her memories but I'm back to say that while the Eternal Flame clearly had no plan or even desire to win the war-- a lot of bullshit about faith when they knew it was a lie-- a lot of what happened is entirely Helena's fault. Like, she really did ALL of that and is now unfortunately reaping the consequences of her actions... In an unfortunate way. Sorry about the manacles you created, girl. I wish they listened to you. I wish you hadn't been a woman, I suppose
