Notes from Underground: whew. A true look into the contradictions of being human. This narrator was so infuriating it was laugh out loud funny at times. He seems to want compassion, love and friendship, yet we see that he sabotages all those things. The most interesting question raised to me was: do we really make decisions against our own self interest that often? Is it pleasurable? Interested to learn more.
