Don’t think I’ve grasped existentialism yet—I appreciate Sartre’s first principle of it, being “Man is nothing else but that which he makes of himself.”(OR existence precedes essence) The differentiation of Christian (Kierkegaard) and atheistic existentialism is nice & Sartre is incredibly succinct with the speech ! (ignoring so many necessary examples) Glad I’m taking notes instead of annotating 🥲
