Hell yeah. Humans stripping down to loincloths to avoid being tracked by their tech and fighting aliens in the woods. Battlestar Galactica meets Predator.

Not a complaint, but I can't remember the last book I read that had me reaching for a dictionary this often.

Dense but good. I see in these early pages that I jumped to some wrong conclusions in the previous books -- apparently human were already well into uplift of dolphins and chimpanzees before they made alien contact.

Off to a pretty good start, I think? Introduced to Fiben, an uplifted Chimpanzee, Athaclena the Tymbrimi, and very briefly, her human friend Robert Oneagle. They appear to be preparing for war on the planet Garth, waged by a birdlike alien race the name of which I have, embarrassingly, already forgotten.
