Not an auspicious sign when the first line is missing the past perfect tense that it needs, and that's the first of many. Clunky prose, "beleaguered the point" instead of "belaboured," and a situation that makes no sense to me. MC follows a criminal who she has an appointment with later. If she knows where he's based, why follow? If she doesn't, how does her backup know where to come?
