This book does really wall at following the thought processes of men, especially Pierre and Nikolay, lustful men who understand the fleetingness of their love. As well as Prince Andrey, who hated his wife and was then guilty when she died and all it felt like he could remember was the fact that he did that to her, he as responsible for her death
