I feel validated that the author separates reading and literary comprehension. I always considered them the same/similar, and since I struggle with understanding deeper meanings behind words/decisions/literary devices, I assumed I was just not as good a reader as I assumed or not good at critical thinking. Her pointing that out (chapter 6) erases some of the negative options about myself that I held
