At long last I am reading this history of Daphne du Maurier's family. It is my family history, too. One branch of my father's family descended from the half of the family that stayed in France, at least for a while. They emigrated to Quebec shortly after or during the revolution. Names were changed, added to, etc and we are still tracing them.
