‘No, of course not. It’s just…nothing.’ I shake my head and hasten across the room to the kitchen door before I faint of lack of oxygen. I don’t really like to think too much into it, but being so close to my husband is really not good for my head. It makes me obnoxiously giggley.

I dig my nails into the soft ground, searching for something to anchor my soul to the ground. My eyes mirror the storm clouds awaiting their time above me — drowning with tears. I am swept away by the raging flood. I never learned to swim, and now, it is too late to try.

How am I, a woman unsure of nearly everything in her life, able to decide what warrants mercy and what does not?
