“But I’m a bunny, papa… And bunnies get hungry when hopping “
That may be the best line of the book

Finally, the epilogue. Almost done. I cannot remember a title that took more out of the reader to skim, intermittently read, comment upon as so not enjoyable. I would give this one star, but that’s for the author. Another star for the fact that she completed whatever you want to call this, and three because I like so many of her other books

And now almost isn’t afterthought, the beat to death plot line, Isobel thinks she is with child. Done to death, that trope must end 90% of this genre.

The most repeated line in the narrative is
“He’d never been harder “

Creativity, thy name has fled.

Winter, Prince Valiant-
Words had the power to build and demolish

So occasionally there was a line of prose that rang like a bell, but the rest was mayhem. And perhaps that was what the author was striving for.
Not my cup of tea not now

It’s all come tumbling out. The Duke’s wife, unhappy made everyone else unhappy. Another trope done to death.
