Add on the (somewhat) random Shakespeare lines and I’m feeling like this book wants me to feel dumb or illiterate. Which I am not.
Please writers, use well known quotes or give me a hint as to the referenced play.

Audio is going better, the lesbian sex scenes are decent… but mostly I’m still finding it a bit too pretentious and Shakespearean.

I’ve managed to secure an audiobook to listen to the last half of this. Thank goodness as I do not think I would have made it otherwise.
Each of our ladies is a different narrator; Lady Macbeth’s having a Scottish brogue that fits nicely.
At least listening to this I am not quite as bored as I can do crafts while the ladies drone on. Although I do like their little sapphic comments about one another.

When the author gives you the ‘history’ of the characters she is about to screw with, you know it’s gonna be good! :)

Besides a Shakespeare expert or enthusiast who can recall a line from the opening of Love’s Labour’s Lost?! (Not me, apparently, as I had to look it up to remember which play it was). Granted I’m in my 40s and my Shakespeare reading days are behind me. But I did read all the big ones, including LLL, in my younger days.
I suppose the context of the line used is more about what it meant, than the play itself, but I am just finding it a bit over the top.
Okay rant over… I am hoping I get into more of a groove with this one as I feel like the idea is amazing; but the execution and I are not currently friends.
