very conflicted with takuan rn. he’s hilarious and ik he helped takezo realize his wrongs in life, but the same rage he criticizes takezo for he seems to have himself. he just uses his extensive teachings and wisdom to act all knowing and special. did takezo rly make any mistake besides being young and wanting to do the right thing?

just finished book 2. i’m liking this A LOT. i like that it’s a story of not being the strongest, but rather learning to be weak and detach. musashi is soooo flawed and so wrapped up in this pursuit of being the best it blinds him to the beauty that surrounds him. i also liked that comparison between otsu and the mask. the sexism of buddhism is definitely very prevalent but def interesting to read.

oh so now that takezo escaped his torture (no thanks to you takuan…) he suddenly actually has potential to be a better man and deserve a second shot at life???? i love you takuan but bffr, what a switch up. i’m also surprised takezo isn’t wondering abt otsu? it’s been three years since she was chased into that ravine by granny. will be interested to see what happened there.

okay i’m so excited to finally being reading this. i honestly thought the writing would have harder vocabulary but thank god it doesn’t LMFAO. hopefully i follow everything well enough tho ugh im so excited. i alrdy know this shit abt to be my bible. hehehehehe.
