On the other hand, MLK is very practical/pessimistic in the sense of saying nonviolence is the way forward with the movement and not as concerned with finding immediate justice. Although, he has a more optimistic view that they will move the civil right movement with nonviolent protests and that the world will become better (like his famous “I have a dream” speech)

Just had an idea for how I’d describe the difference between the two other than sword and shield (pt 1):
To me, Malcolm X appears to be a visionary in terms of actions to forward towards civil rights, but pessimistic in how he sees the future towards and after they get there. What I mean is that Malcolm X tended to have views that sounded really justifying and vindicating, but weren’t practical in the long run.
