It’s very sad to see how, even at their beginnings, cars destroyed our cities, ruining the common streets and highlighting the wealth disparity that was practically invisible in urban cores. I mean, rich people were using these things show off to and threaten the poor, as opposed to walking side by side with them.

Interesting note about lead and gasoline: I feel like we’re usually taught that dangerous products result from ignorance, when in reality corporations were aware of the dangers, they just didn’t care about poisoning people for the sake of making a buck.
