I bought and started reading this one in Prague, at the Shakespeare A. Synove & Sons bookstore, not far from the Kafka Museum—a great bookstore, packed to the rafters and with various tattered chairs in which to sit and skim books.

The VoM2026 conference caused a break in my reading, but also it’s the kind of book that makes me stop every few pages and think about what I’d read, fit the piece into the puzzle.
