Ok totally random but I’m so hung up on Old Caleb being able to “get it up” when young Caleb couldn’t in the past. It feels like a metaphor for how the gender roles in their marriage have evolved. She had the power & drive in the beginning & he internally resented her for it & couldn’t/didn’t want to have sex. Old Caleb however is in full control of her life & now relishes in dominating her physically.

Prediction: Caleb goes off the rails with his conspiracy theory BS and goes full religious psychosis mode, takes Natalie hostage on the farm, and forces them to live as if it’s the past.
I’m also wondering if there was some sort of national event though that occurred as a catalyst for him going off the deep end because she hasn’t encountered any family or anything yet? And the farm is in such disrepair!

She just found the piece of plastic she thinks is from a lavalier microphone in the field - leading me to believe this is actually the future. I already thought it was the future when she said Caleb still looked like Caleb but older. Also when she said she always wanted to name a baby Mary and woke to a teenager named Mary being her child. Curious to see why it’s the future though and how everything fell apart.
