marlena is a manic pixie dream girl & this is very looking for alaska coded but i appreciate that it’s not a male main character and i have a soft spot for girls that want to be a little more mysterious but know deep inside that they’re meant to be boring

ok my opinion has improved, i like the character building and descriptions of the michigan winter. i wouldn’t even describe it as slow-paced, not a lot HAPPENS, very character driven. 3.5/5 so far
