The View from Culion
This was disappointing. I understood the symbolisms/messages/meaning behind the superficial story but as I read more of these stories, I'm seeing that the writing style is very simple. It more telling with the smallest amount of showing.

Superassassin
This was a really surprising story. The way the story takes a turn, similar to a superhero story the main character admires, made it really fascinating and disturbing at the same time. My favorite story from the collection so far.

Felix Starro
This story was not that bad. Just simply okay. The story of Felix's determination to gain citizenship is interesting especially once he starts considering the consequences.

THE BROTHERS
I REALLY enjoyed this story. Without giving too much away, it's about a family dealing with a family members transition. There are interesting moments how the story unfolds. It really shows the mindset of traditionally minded Filipinos and how they view the LGBT community. I liked how the theme of siblings plays a double meaning throughout the story. I wanted more.

I REALLY enjoyed this story. Without giving too much away, it's about a family dealing with a family members transition. There are interesting moments how the story unfolds. MONSTRESS
This is the first short story. It showed the common dream of a lot of Filipinos that overseas (especially the US) is the aspiration to immigrate/get jobs. The theme comparisons of the creature feature movie and this couple's relationship/dreams/hopes is nice.
