I really enjoyed the initial arc of her early life and struggle-into-slow acceptance of her new world, but after she becomes a geisha/apprentice, the plot is very catty and flat - i’m sure once i fight through this middle arc that it will re-entice me. I am also having a hard time deciphering artistic liberties and biographical elements. It reads like a memoir that’s a little too perfect to be totally true…
