(Rant contains minor spoilers) Are we supposed to think Valentine is really so dumb as to tell his girlfriend's dad his entire elopement plan on the night he's going to carry it out?! If so, he's not the hero to root for. And if that's the case, who on earth am I supposed to root for? Certainly not Proteus.
